Brewery Steamin' ahead with Symphony EPOS

11 September 2013

The Steamin′ Billy Brewery Company was founded in 1995 by brewer Bill Allingham and licensee Barry Lount. Since then they have expanded the busniness to the current 7 venues in the Leicestershire area, along with the brewery business where their 3 popular regular and various seasonal beers are brewed.

In 2011 the group had 5 venues, and with expansion in mind, their current systems in place would not provide the management controls and information required. Having been recommended, they approached MCR Systems to discuss what options were available.

Following an initial meeting, they quickly realised that the Symphony suite of software from MCR would be a perfect solution to their requirements. "MCR were able to demonstrate a proven track record in providing a scalable solution for our business. The ability to access real time reports and control products & prices from head office, or anywhere with an internet connection for that matter was a huge step forward for our company."

The system was initially installed into the groups’ new sixth site, The Dog & Gun, in the summer of 2011. This was followed by the seventh site, the Horse & Trumpet in the spring of 2012. More recently, the system was installed into the Cow & Plough, a very busy country pub. The plan now is to install the system into the existing estate and new sites that come on board.

"It is imperative as we grow and add more units that we have the best possible reporting system so we can obtain accurate information quickly and remotely from head office" comments Bill Allingham, Managing Director of the group.

Matthew Kemp of MCR Systems commented "we are pleased to be working with the Steamin′ Billy Brewery Company and delighted they are reaping the benefits the Symphony system is providing.”
