It's been a very busy past twelve months at Leeds University, now into the fifth year of the partnership between the university and MCR Systems the appetite for new functionality is as strong as it was on day one and MCR are delivering exactly what the business demands.
The gradual replacement of the existing IBM terminals is almost complete providing a full estate of 27 J2 SymPOS touchscreen units. MCR have replaced the old cashless system with the newly launched SymPAY combining cashless payment and real time loyalty via cards and mobile phones. Everything is fully integrated within Symphony Enterprise and centrally hosted via MCR's hosting partner.
The SymPAY cashless payment provides multiple on line purses and at Leeds this is being used to manage 800 catered students seven days a week delivering them their weekly meal allowance.
Additionally other purses manage staff and student loading all done via the tailored web site. Hospitality transactions are managed by the software and provide regular statements on departmental spend.
The most recent activity was the implementation of SymPAY loyalty, this has been managed by the Catering and the Marketing team as a joint project, this provides regular rolling promotions and system integrated loyalty schemes to deliver an enhanced vibrant student and staff experience, meeting their needs and the business needs and providing an increased bottom line profit.
